Life in a shoe: the methods and madness of one mother of 8Life in a shoe: the methods and madness of one mother of 8

I’m the oldest of 14 children, a Christian homeschooling wife & mother of 8.
We live in just under 1200 sq. ft. with way too many pets and not nearly enough bathrooms or closets. It’s our own fault, because we built it with our own 20 hands.
In Life in a Shoe, I share a few of our methods for keeping a large family in a small house running smoothly, and I share a lot of the laughs that make it OK when things don’t go smoothly.
We love our family, our lives and our Lord.

My blog is about art, parenting, life and trying to piece it all together. Tesserae are small pieces of ceramic or glass used to make mosaics. Learning as I goLearning as I go

My blog is mostly about me and my family as we have two growing babies – one who is 22 months and the other who is nine months old. Our children are very close in age, which wasn’t the initial plan for us, but we are more than happy and blessed that this happened. Being a mom so quickly to two children presents a lot of challenges, most of which I am dealing with on a daily basis. Between working full time with one career, I work at my second career from 6 PM until 7:30 am the next morning. It’s difficult, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

In my blog, I write stories to my girls as well as tell stories about the funny new things they do. I also write about my family and our challenges, and sometimes about my hopes and fears for the future. I’m slowly starting to mix it up.
